'What's Where in Doveton and Eumemmerring' Map - 19 July 2005
The City of Casey has launched its new What’s Where in Doveton and Eumemmerring poster map. As well as highlighting local services and resources, the poster includes a list of key and emergency contacts and references to community facilities. Colourful use of icons also allows a more inclusive use of the map, benefiting all individuals in Doveton and Eumemmerring.
“The purpose of this poster,” said City of Casey Mayor Cr Neil Lucas, “is to increase residents’ awareness of services and resources available to access in their area in a fun and easily readable format. It is hoped that this map will be a valuable resource to Doveton and Eumemmerring residents.”
Included on the poster are local services such as walking/bike tracks, petrol stations, shopping precincts, religious buildings, community centres, parks and reserves, laundromats, bus routes, ATMs and childcare centres. Of particular interest is Myuna Farm, the Indigenous Food Garden, the miniature train service running along Dandenong Creek, The Pool in the Park, as well as BMX tracks, local parks and the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
The Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal, which is a vital partnership initiative between Casey Council and the State Government, will deliver the map to all households in the area. This exciting resource is also available at all Council customer service outlets and Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Oak Avenue, Doveton.
