Check out the winning film, FOFO, from City of Casey’s ‘Vaccinate’ short film competition.
Talented young Casey resident Amar Haque was named the winner of the competition, receiving $1,000 and the opportunity to work with local film production company Filmtime Media to professionally re-shoot his film.
The competition called on young people in Casey to submit a short film which creatively showcased the topic of adolescent vaccination and why it’s important for young people’s health, and the broader health of the community.
Amar’s original film was selected as the winner due to its unique, comedic nature and original creative script which focussed on the topic of chickenpox.
With the help of Filmtime Media, it has now been recreated and will be used as a tool to increase the understanding and importance of vaccinations among secondary school aged students.
Council also awarded a second prize ‘People’s Choice Award’ of $500 to the entry which received the most ‘likes’ on the Casey Conversations website from members of the public.
An entry by Fountain Gate Secondary College students Brianna, Antonio and Jasmine Gonzalez, was the People’s Choice winner.
The short film competition is proudly supported by Kernow Environmental Services.
