FReeZA
The City of Casey receives funding from the State Government to provide music and cultural events for young people aged 12-25, such as Battle of the Bands and Live n Loud. All events are fully supervised and drug, alcohol and smoke free. They are held at various venues across Casey and feature a variety of music styles so that there's something for everyone.
The State Governments innovative strategy was developed in 1996 to minimise the effects of drug and alcohol use among young people. One of the key elements of this strategy, known as "Turning the Tide", is called FReeZA Entertainment for young people. The City of Casey, as a FReeZA provider, offers a number of dance parties and live music throughout the year.
Spectrum Entertainment is the Youth Advisory Committee who organise these drug, alcohol and smoke free music and cultural events.
