About the Event Forums

The City of Casey aims to provide up to two FREE Event Forums each year for community event organisers, to inform and increase awareness of Council Event related services and also provide a networking opportunity for Casey's event organisers. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for Event Organisers to learn about the importance of thorough planning for events and to get some tips about the best methods to employ when getting an event off the ground. Events forums are FREE to the Casey community and should not be missed.

Upcoming Event Forum

The Next Event Forum is scheduled for Wednesday 26 June.  There wil be two free sessions where you can learn about effective low cost marketing and your legal requirements to provide a safe event. 

Session 1:  2pm - 4pm Balla Balla Community Centre, Cranbourne East

Session 2:  6pm - 8pm Civic Centre, Narre Warren

Site Map Training for Community Event Organisers (November 2011)

When running an event a site map is extremely valuable for the organising committee as well as the general public. When mapping out an event you should consider event details, entry and exit points, emergency access points, toilets, first aid, evacuation points, event staff/volunteer areas, temporary structures (stages, fencing, jumping castles, marquees etc), security, car parking, pedestrian flow, information booth, admission fee box, water etc.

Risk and Safety at Community Events (June 2011)

Keynote Speaker: Tracey Hull
Tracey Hull has over 20 years experience with a range of community, sport, art and special interest events, festivals and projects. Tracey conducts a range of event risk and safety training for volunteer and professional event organisers, and works with relevant authorities to provide practical risk and compliance information to event organisers. Tracey will provide community events organisers with practical tools to develop and implement risk and safety plans.

This free forum for community event organisers aimed to increase awareness of risk and safety management at events. All participants were provided with templates and checklists to utilise for their own events.
