Composting Terms and Conditions

  1. This rebate for purchase of a compost bin, worm farm or bio-fermenter is open to households in the City of Casey only.
  2. This rebate is for the purchase of compost bins, worm farms, and bio-fermenter compost units only.
  3. Rebate amounts set for each items are capped at the specified amount. Rebate amounts may be dependant the amount spent on the equipment by the resident. If the cost of equipment is less than the specified cap, residents will be paid the amount spent.
  4. Compost bins will receive a rebate of $30, Worm farms will receive a rebate of $50 and bio fermenters will receive a rebate of $40. This is non-negotiable.
  5. One rebate per household per calendar year. You must be the occupant of the property requesting the rebate.
  6. Composting equipment being claimed for must have been purchased after 1 January 2016.
  7. Applications are to be submitted online. If an applicant does not have computer access, entries can be completed over the phone on 9705 5200 or at Customer Service.
  8. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
  9. Rebate cannot be used for ongoing consumables eg worms, bacteria, bio-fermenter liquid or grains.
  10. Council is not responsible for the quality or purchase of the composting equipment.
  11. Those wishing to claim a rebate must provide proof of purchase and proof of Casey residence (eg. rates notice, utility bill, etc)
  12. Online and second hand purchases can be rebated if a valid proof of purchase is provided.
