In Melbourne, the Victorian Government make decisions to either lift or introduce water saving rules and restrictions. The Victorian Government also decides the level of restrictions based on the response from Melbourne Water and 3 metropolitan water retailiers - South East Water, City West Water and Yarra Valley Water. Water restrictions are managed by Victoria's retail water companies. Restriction stages are triggered when the amount of water in storage resevoirs falls to certain levels.
To find out more about current water restrictions visit the Melbourne Water website or South East Water website.
