Naturestrip guidelines

The naturestrip is an iconic feature of the Australian streetscape.

In the City of Casey naturestrips are an integral part of our urban environment and can significantly increase the aesthetic and environmental appeal of Casey’s streets and neighbourhoods.

Naturestrips are also important infrastructure, containing underground pipes or cabling for services and utilities such as electricity, gas, water and telephone.

Naturestrips are owned by Council and therefore public land. However, residents can landscape the naturestrip at the boundary of their property as long as they follow the guidelines below.

The guidelines provide diagrams of different types of naturestrip and are designed to assist residents with any landscaping and plant selection you may wish to undertake.
