Energise Program for Women
The Energise program is funded by the State Government of Victoria. City of Casey is working in partnership with the State Government of Victoria to develop and implement programs and activities in the Cranbourne area that provide young mothers and teenage girls with the opportunity to participate in sport and active recreation in a fun and friendly environment.
Through this initiative new programs are being implemented and existing programs are being promoted through regular updates and promotional material circulated throughout the community. Leadership opportunities, workshops, coaching courses and training will be on offer throughout the year dependant on what people are interested in being involved in.
Research suggests that women living in the Cranbourne area have low physical activity participation rates and are unaware of activities available to them in the area. By minimising these barriers and informing girls and women in the Cranbourne community of physical activities available, it may assist young women to increase their confidence, self esteem, meet new friends and become involved in positive community based activities.
If you would like to become an Energise member online please email your details such as your name, age, address and what you are interested in participating in to leisure@casey.vic.gov.au .
