The City of Casey’s new home of entertainment is set to open to the public on 28 and 29 October 2017 and you can now purchase tickets to some of the shows that will hit Bunjil Place in its opening months.

The entertainment line-up will be kicking off with comedy, theatre, music and kids’ shows including:

  • Sammy J in Hero Complex – Thursday 9 November 2017, 7.30 pm
Sammy J abandoned his law degree to travel the world and sing funny songs for a living. The next stop for this award-winning comedian, musician and writer is hitting Bunjil Place to kick off the laughs.

Dave O’Neil has been doing comedy for 27 years and is a recognisable face from our TV screens, notably as a regular on Spicks and Specks. He’s set to roll into Bunjil Place to share his greatest comedy hits.
  • The Glenn Miller Orchestra – Tuesday 31 October 2017, 7.30 pm
In their long-awaited return to Australia, the greatest big band of the 1940’s, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, is heading to Bunjil Place to perform their greatest hits from the golden era of swing.
  • Room on the Broom – Thursday 2 November 2017, 10.00 am and 12.00 pm (two shows)
The team behind The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child return with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged three and up - and their grown-ups!

Other shows now on sale include Telling Tales, a theatrical odyssey which will celebrate and share the stories of some interesting local residents, and Casey Sings, which will see some of the best local choirs come together for an incredible mass choral event.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz said this was just a taste of what’s to come for the precinct.

“With such a diverse mix of facilities, Bunjil Place will offer unprecedented entertainment options for the region from professional shows and live gigs in the Theatre and Studio, to vibrant outdoor events in the Community Plaza and interactive exhibitions in the Gallery,” Cr Aziz said.

“The first tickets going on sale marks a momentous occasion as we prepare to usher in a new era entertainment and bring city-style experiences to the south-east.”

Comedian Sammy J said he was excited to be one of the first comedians to perform at Bunjil Place.

I look forward to sharing a great night with the locals. I’m also honoured that they created an entire new entertainment space just for my performance. As I said to the Mayor, you can’t put a price on laughter,” he said.
