Build a better Casey with community grants

Community groups, organisations and individuals are encouraged to apply for a City of Casey grant to assist them to undertake work which benefits the Casey community.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz said “Council is committed to supporting Casey’s community groups and organisations that work hard to enrich the lives of residents and strengthen community spirit.

“I encourage all eligible groups and organisations to seize this great opportunity and think about how they might use additional funding to improve the support they provide to the community.

“Funding is also available for individuals to assist with biodiversity projects on private and public properties”.

Council is opening the following three grant programs for applications on Monday 27 March 2017:

  • Community Grants
    Community Grants of up to $3,000 are available to not-for-profit community groups and organisations to provide services, programs and events that benefit the local community.
  • Environmental Sustainability Grants
    Environmental Sustainability Grants of up to $2,000 are available to businesses, schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, universities and community groups for projects that minimise water use, improve habitat, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, re-use or decrease the use of raw materials, minimise energy or optimise the use of land.
  • Biodiversity Incentive Scheme Grants
    Biodiversity Incentive Scheme Grants of up to $2,000 are available to assist with land care and the delivery of environmentally focused projects on private and public property such as pest plant and animal control, revegetation, fencing and enhancement of remnant vegetation.

Interested groups and individuals are encouraged to attend an information session on Tuesday 28 March 2017 (bookings are essential, phone Customer Service on 9705 5200 to register):

  • 10.00 am – 11.30 am - Lynbrook Community Centre, 2 Harris Drive, Lynbrook
  • 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm - City of Casey Council Chambers, Magid Drive, Narre Warren
