Casey Teenage School Holiday Program – Winter 2018

The Casey Teenage School Holiday Program is for teenagers aged 10 – 17 years and offers fun, age-appropriate activities at reasonable prices. The upcoming Teenage School Holiday Program will run from Monday 2nd July – Friday 13 July 2018, with a range of activities including a day at Imax and Melbourne Museum, Clip ‘n Climb, Task Works and the Aquarium. Transportation to and from the program is available at designated pick up and drop off points throughout Cranbourne, Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Endeavour Hills and Doveton. Push Start Battle of the Sounds 2018

Applications are now open for local emerging bands, duos, soloists, DJs and producers to compete in the annual Push Start Battle of the Sounds.  The competition is open to artists aged 15 - 25 years, performing any genre of music. Go in the running to win some fantastic prizes and the opportunity to perform at the regional finals!

Casey Creations Creative Arts Competition

Casey Creations is a creative arts competition for young people who live, work or study within the City of Casey. This annual competition showcases the artistic talents of young people. Entries open in term one each year.

The competition is split into the following categories:

  • Visual Arts (2D work only)
  • Photography
  • Short Film

There is no theme for the competition, so be creative and show us how talented you are!

Age categories for Visual Arts 2 D and Photography:

  • Junior - Grades 5 and 6 (or age equivalent)

  • Intermediate - Years 7 to 9 (or age equivalent)

  • Senior - Years 10 to 12 (or age equivalent)

Age category for Short Film:

  • 10 – 25 years

How to submit work

  • Entry is FREE!
  • An entry form (526kb) must be attached to the work
  • Terms and conditions (568kb) of entry apply
  • Submit your work and entry form by 5.00 pm on Friday 14 September 2018
  • Entries can be submitted at a City of Casey Youth Information Centre.

Results

All entries are considered by a community judging panel including local artists and young people.

Winners will be notified and will be invited to a special awards ceremony where they will receive their prizes.

Schools on Stage will be held on Thursday 30 August 2018 at Bunjil Place Theatre, hosted by Tim Campbell.

Schools on Stage celebrates the performing arts talents of Casey’s young people, whilst also encouraging them to take part in extra-curricular activities to strengthen their connection to the school community, make new friends and build important skills

The competition has two divisions:

Premier Division – Schools who have staged a full-scale musical production in 2018, have selected two songs to perform in full, as they would appear in the original production.

Open Division – Schools who have not performed a full-scale musical in 2018, have selected a musical production of their choice and nominated one song which they will perform as choral number.
