The roar of motorcycles and a sea of colour and chrome will fill the streets of Cranbourne on Saturday 18 October at the Cranbourne GP Run. The City of Casey is proud to host one of the largest and most exciting events in Victoria, as thousands of motorcyclists gather in Cranbourne to travel en-masse to Phillip Island for the 2014 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
The City of Casey is excited to announce that the Mirabel Foundation has been named as the charity partner for the 2014 Cranbourne GP Run and Shane Jacobson has been selected to wave the flag at the 2014 event.
Shane is one of Australia’s most loved award-winning actors, presenters and entertainers, having worked in radio, television, film and theatre. His silver screen credits include Hollywood blockbuster The Bourne Legacy.
Shane’s love of acting is only matched by his passion for motor sport, and these two worlds collided when Shane co-hosted Top Gear Australia in 2010 and 2011. He’s currently co-hosting Top Gear Festival with UK hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May Steve Pizatti and Australian racing legend Craig Lowndes.
From 8.15 am on the day, there will be plenty of entertainment to keep the whole family enthralled with a variety of children's activities, food stalls and entertainment including Captain America, Scratch Art, Origami and Face Painting. At 10.00 am, the pace picks up for the highlight of the day when Shane Jacobson will wave-off thousands of gathered motorcyclists on their journey.
Volunteer opportunities are currently available for the event. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from volunteers for the event to complete a variety of roles. To forward your interest in becoming a volunteer at this exciting event please contact the City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200 or email email@example.com.
