Telling Tales

Date: Friday 3 November 2017 - Friday 3 November 2017
Time: 1.00 PM - 2.30 PM
Venue:  Magid Drive, Narre Warren 3805

Imagine arriving in Doveton in a Studebaker, seven kids, mattress on the floor, looking up at the stars! Or writing books, Born Mid Ocean and Letters Home which tell the story of a life of travel and -finally, after 48 years - settling in Harkaway.

Travellers, military men, scholars, inventors, and community leaders have journeyed from New Zealand, England, Fiji, Tasmania, Deniliquin and Gardenvale to the City of Casey to make it their home.

The production has been created through a series of oral history interviews with our local elders. Their generous stories were recorded and developed for the stage by actress and director, Evelyn Krape and historian, Dr Vivienne Nicholson.
