The online Calendar of Events is a great way to promote your event. The Calendar of Events informs members of the Casey community of the variety of events and activities happening throughout the municipality over the coming months.
If you have a community event that you would like to promote please download and complete the Events Calendar Application Form or submit your event online, at the bottom of this page.
Casey Events Calendar Publication
Casey's Events Calendar is a publication produced twice a year to inform members of our community of the major events and activities happening throughout Casey over the coming months.
From September 2009 the Casey Events Calendar will be included bi-annually in City News (with a distribution to approximately 80,000 homes). Copies will continue to be mailed to those who reside outside the City of Casey.
Priority Groups
Not all events listed in the Online Calendar of Events can be included in the Casey Events Calendar publication. The following are the different levels of priority, with 1 being the highest level of priority, and 5 being the lowest for events to be included in the Events Calendar publication.
1. Council-initiated events
Assessed in order of:
- Events organised by the City of Casey
2. Council-supported events (supported through partnerships or direct funding)
Assessed in order of:
- Direct funding through the Event Grants or Sponsorships
- Direct funding for events or exhibitions through the Arts and Cultural Initiative Grants, Recreation Access Grants and Access and Equity Grants
- Events supported in partnership with City of Casey
3. Community events
Assessed in order of events that:
- Have the potential to attract large crowds of participants
- Involve a wide range of local community groups eg. local arts, cultural and ethnic groups
- Have demonstrated the ability to host the event
- Offer something entirely new to City of Casey residents
- Are accessible to all residents.
4. Council messages
- Civic functions and openings/launches.
5. Other Community Events
Many of the events promoted online and in the Events Calendar publication are run by community groups and organisations. For further information about each of these events please contact the person, organisation, or number listed.
